This conversation invites readers to explore the evolution of news reporting and mass media, whether old media and journalism can maintain their institutional status in an era where anyone can become a media outlet, the role of designers in the news industry, and the ability of 'images' to communicate in ways that text cannot. It also discusses applying news reporting principles in other contexts. If artists borrow the thinking methods of journalism as a basis for creating art, how similar or different are the resulting works from news, and how should they be interpreted or valued?

Pawee Sirimai, an economist and former economic journalist interested in contemporary art that addresses social issues, invites Nuankhanit Phromchanya, a designer working on social issues and interested in experimental mass communication, who is also a co-founder of ACED in the Netherlands, a platform that creates space for journalists and designers to exchange ideas and work together. They discuss the development of news presentation in Thailand, Nuankhanit's experience working with foreign news agencies, and opinions on the increasing closeness between art-making and news reporting methods. Joining them is Papon Sirimai, an information designer, who responsible for the production and illustration for this interview.
