Siam Waterfront Visual Identity Program

Reconstructing the wave.

	Siam Waterfront, a micro real estate agency established in 2023, initially focused on riverfront properties in Bangkok's Charoen Nakhon area before expanding to cover the entire city and its surroundings. The company lacked a cohesive brand identity system at its inception. Our team conducted comprehensive competitor research and developed a brand strategy, which informed the creation of a logo design and visual identity guidelines. The resulting transformed wave logo presents a more solid appearance and can be utilized to create cityscape-like illustrations. This design approach helps the target audience easily associate the brand with the real estate sector, giving Siam Waterfront a more cutting-edge look in the market.

		<description>
	Thailand Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS)
2023-2024 ReportTowards mental health sustainability in Thailand.The Thailand Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS) was founded in response to growing concerns about mental health in Thailand. Its establishment reflects a recognition by co-founders and supporters of the critical importance of mental well-being for the Thai population. This issue has become increasingly pressing due to external stressors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and evolving social dynamics. Despite this growing need, current policies aimed at promoting sustainable mental health practices remain inadequate.

	A key challenge facing Thailand is the shortage of mental health professionals capable of providing primary care and counseling services. This gap often results in individuals seeking mental health support being primarily treated with medication prescribed by psychiatrists. However, these specialized doctors are both scarce and predominantly located in urban centers, leading to overburdened practitioners unable to provide sufficient individual attention to patients.&#38;nbsp;

Ultimately, the main goal of TIMS, along with the Bureau of Support for Health Risk Control of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), is to fundamentally reshape Thailand's mental health landscape. This ambitious goal seeks to foster an ecosystem conducive to long-term mental health sustainability, equipping Thai citizens with the psychological resilience necessary to navigate an uncertain future.
This report documents TIMS's founding rationale and first-year activities. It includes interviews with key figures such as founders, advisors, and team members. The document serves dual purposes: it's a communication tool and a record of TIMS's inaugural year. By outlining the organization's mission, challenges, and initial efforts, it provides a snapshot of TIMS's early journey in promoting mental health sustainability in Thailand.

		<description>
	Tables &#124; Factories
An extension to ‘The Economy Enters the People’
The process of preparing this book began with looking at photographs of large meeting tables around which Chinese and Singaporean public officials gathered during the many Chinese government study missions to Singapore throughout the 1990s. While such images might seem unremarkable today, the appearance of former revolutionaries of the Maoist era as sedentary technocrats marks the historic emergence of a distinct political imaginary at a time when “the economy” was displacing class struggle as the primary subject of governance in China.It was at the table that these technocrats, having extricated themselves from the masses, devised the concept of the socialist market economy to frame the economic reforms that were launched by Deng Xiaoping in 1978. As they insisted on the compatibility of the market economy with the prevailing socialist social contract, the reformers articulated their turn towards the market as a decision informed not by the “invisible” manner through which the market allocates its resources, but by the assumed transparency of its information flows, which they believed would make visible what the party-state had been previously unable to see.

	Yet, to the extent that this process of “seeking truth from facts”, as the reformers put it, is founded upon a set of separations—the party-state from the masses, informatio from ideology, the economic from the political—what ultimately underwrites the total visibility apparently provided by the table is the concealment of that which must not be allowed to appear as information in order for the logic of the market to obtain: the exploitation of labour.It is on this basis that the factory can be construed as the table’s forgotten origin and impenetrable interior, and the gate that circumscribes the compound, the limit of the market’s capacity for making things visible. Designed to spatially contain industrial labour and hide their exploitation from the public sphere, the factory gate is as close as the technocrat would get, as seen during the factory’s opening ceremony, to the world of labour under a capitalist mode of production. In thus proposing a convergence between tables and factories and examining their respective regimes of (in)visibility across the contexts of Singapore and Reform-era China, this collection of images and texts seeks to understand how the seemingly disparate worlds centred around these two objects in fact call forth each other to produce our deeply unsettled contemporary condition—one where the recognition that accrues to visibility has replaced freedom from exploitation as the most that the people can ever demand after the revolution’s untimely end.

	Dementia Lab
Seeking consensus for dementia screening method.

	Dementia Lab is an innovative microsite dedicated to determining the most suitable dementia screening method for the Thai context. Our goal is to develop a pilot program that can later be expanded nationally.

The platform is divided into two main components. The first part is a quiz designed to assess the user's fundamental knowledge of dementia. In the second part, users engage in a role-play experience, assuming the perspective of an individual suspecting they have dementia. They conclude their journey by selecting the screening method that aligns with their interests.

Upon completion, users receive a summary of the screening methods chosen by the community and easy mental exercises to combat dementia.

FHKA StudioVisual Identity Program

‘Hidden in the force that pull us down, Is the energy that lift us up’

	FHKA, which stands for 'Fly High and Kick Ass', is a boutique fitness studio nestled in central Bangkok. As one of the pioneers in Thailand, FHKA introduced 'AntiGravity® Fitness Training' to the local fitness scene. This innovative workout method uses suspended fabric to elevate the body, similar to aerial yoga, embodying the 'Fly High' part of the studio's name.

Beyond its signature AntiGravity® classes, FHKA offers a diverse range of fitness programs. These include mat and reformer Pilates, available both in-studio and through various online platforms. This versatility allows clients to maintain their fitness routines whether they prefer in-person sessions or the convenience of working out from home.

This conversation invites readers to explore the evolution of news reporting and mass media, whether old media and journalism can maintain their institutional status in an era where anyone can become a media outlet, the role of designers in the news industry, and the ability of 'images' to communicate in ways that text cannot. It also discusses applying news reporting principles in other contexts. If artists borrow the thinking methods of journalism as a basis for creating art, how similar or different are the resulting works from news, and how should they be interpreted or valued?

Pawee Sirimai, an economist and former economic journalist interested in contemporary art that addresses social issues, invites Nuankhanit Phromchanya, a designer working on social issues and interested in experimental mass communication, who is also a co-founder of ACED in the Netherlands, a platform that creates space for journalists and designers to exchange ideas and work together. They discuss the development of news presentation in Thailand, Nuankhanit's experience working with foreign news agencies, and opinions on the increasing closeness between art-making and news reporting methods. Joining them is Papon Sirimai, an information designer, who responsible for the production and illustration for this interview.
